To Sleep On Angel’s Wings

December 31st, 2008 No comments

This posting will probably never see the light of the day. But just so I can let it out of my chest, I’ll write this out anyway.

Today, I spoke to a friend. I’ve knew her for at least two years. Or as far as my memory can recall. She will always forward me emails – mostly about things regarding life and a lot of those “chain mails” type.

For some strange reasons – we spoke today. Decent chat. Long one too.

Truth be told, I haven’t spoke candidly to anyone for a long long time. It felt good. It felt like theraphy. Maybe even better.

It renewed my faith in life in many ways than one. That no matter how dark times may seems, how low life may be – there is always someone out there who shares the same passion and beliefs as you do.

Frankly, I do not know how much of the things that we spoke of will come true – it doesn’t really matter – for in those moments of sharing, it’s the feeling of hopefulness that brings life to it.

Times are bad. The state of the world right now. The state of my business affairs right now. And the state of personal issues I have. I’m ending 2008 with nothing but dreams of a better future.

What will the future holds?

I don’t know for sure.

But what I know is this: be hopeful, focus on your dreams, be passionate and always believe that somewhere out there someone shares your hope, dreams and passion. And be honest. To your friends, clients and people that matters to you most.

Yolanda, if ever you come across this little note one day – I would like to thank you. You showed me where to sleep on an angel’s wings tonight.

The Morning

December 10th, 2008 No comments

This is how my sleep cycle goes: if I sleep before midnight, I’ll wake up at 5am the next day – anything later than that, I rise like a lazy zombie, usually after 8am or worse.

This morning I was up since 5am. Checked emails. Read the news. Bought the breakfast.

I just love the early morning activities. The joggers. The nasi lemak sellers. The newspaper man. And yea, the chirping birds, up from a night of sleeping standing.

There will be a morning meeting with a client. Pushing through a proposal for online advertising – not a great fan of doing the tail end scraps of some global campaign, but if that brings in the much needed money for survival – I guess there is where you have to sometimes swallow that bitter pill of reality and throw your principles out the window.

Anyway, breakfast is waiting.
